A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces had defeated the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army.

Units of the North group of forces in the Belgorod direction defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and two air defense brigades in the areas of the settlements of Miropolskoye, Mikhaylovskoye and Turya in the Sumy region.

The enemy's losses amounted to up to 35 military personnel, a tank, an armored personnel carrier, two vehicles, an artillery piece and an electronic warfare station, the military added.

In addition, Russian air defense systems destroyed eight JDAM guided aerial bombs, two American multiple launch rocket launchers (MLRS) HIMARS and 236 aircraft-type drones.

In total, since the beginning of the special operation, 661 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 53,821 UAVs, 605 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), 23,048 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,553 MLRS combat vehicles, 24,152 field artillery and mortars, 34,615 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
