The outbreak of the disease caused by the Sudanese strain of the Ebola virus has officially ended in Uganda. This was announced on April 26 by the Ministry of Health of the country.

"We have good news, the Ebola outbreak is officially over. Over the past 42 days, no cases of Ebola have been detected in the country," the Ugandan Ministry of Health said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

A new outbreak of Ebola occurred in Uganda on January 30 and led to the death of four people, the total number of infected was 14 people.

Earlier, on March 11, Rospotrebnadzor ruled out the risk of Ebola spreading in Russia. It is noted that Rospotrebnadzor has developed diagnostic kits that can detect the genetic material of the virus, as well as test systems for detecting antibodies.
