The album "Music of Victory" was presented in Moscow, for which famous performers gave a new sound to the iconic songs of the war years. Thus, they told the Izvestia correspondent on April 25, the older generation wants to pass on historical memory to the new, younger one.

The collection was presented on Friday, but it won't be available on streaming platforms and radio stations until a few days later. The most important thing when performing a song is not to distort its meaning.

"If you imagine that it's September 1941. Young people are leaving Leningrad, even before the blockade, not knowing what will happen to their beloved city," said singer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Pelageya, who sang the song "Goodbye, beloved City" to the music of composer Solovyov-Sedov.

The hits of the war years acquire a more modern sound, said correspondent Ksenia Soldatova, but the lyrics of each song remain intact. They are a part of Russian history that is remembered, revered and cherished.

"It is the sacred duty of each of us to transmit this memory to our children in the most careful way so that they understand and transmit it in their language," said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.

The songs of the war years will be performed by Mia Boyka, Zara, the Uma2rman group, Nikolai Rastorguev, Polina Gagarina, Pelageya, Victoria Daineko and others.

"We used to write songs. This song is a whole story, the drama in the song, I'm not even talking about the melody, this is something that we've lost a little bit now," said People's Artist of the Russian Federation, composer, producer Igor Matvienko.

The Victory Music project started on April 9th. On the eve of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, you can hear the compositions on popular radio stations, on VK sites and streaming platforms. The funds raised will be sent to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and special operations soldiers. New versions of legendary songs will be played on the radio and performed at concerts in order to continue to carry historical memory and truth through generations.
