Fraudsters can steal passport data of Russians under the pretext of employment or during photocopying. This was announced on April 26 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

The department noted that the attackers, under the guise of an employer, asked the applicant for a lucrative job to leave documents for a while, allegedly for registration in the state.

Fraudsters can also use stolen or lost passports. At the same time, students, pensioners and the unemployed may be involved in illegal activities using passports fraudulently, the department warned. For example, actions to register real commercial firms or one-day firms, bank cards or current accounts for the benefit of third parties.

As noted in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is worth considering if, for no particular reason, an invitation is received to become a founder of a company, since, most likely, we are talking about a one-day company that is created to cover up fraud, illegal banking, false entrepreneurship, money laundering, illegal loan obtaining, smuggling, tax evasion or obtaining unjustified tax benefits. through tax fraud.

"Beware of scammers and scammers, be vigilant and do not give your passport to anyone, even under the most plausible pretext," TASS quotes a quote from the document.

In this regard, citizens were reminded to take care of their passports, including when photocopying.

"Make sure that all the copies you have made are returned to you," the department added.

On March 29, the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia listed actions in case of passport loss abroad. So, a citizen should contact the Russian embassy so that intruders cannot use the lost passport. At the same time, the foreign passport will be marked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as invalid from the date of receipt of the relevant message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
