The Russian military reported the impossibility of rescuing icons from the "New Jerusalem"

It is currently impossible to rescue icons and other shrines from the New Jerusalem temple complex attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Belgorod region due to the threat of new attacks. This was reported to Izvestia on April 26 by the North group of forces.

It is specified that firefighters who arrived at the temple after the first strike of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were attacked by Baba Yaga unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of Ukrainian militants. As a result, the specialists were unable to start extinguishing the fire and the building of the "New Jerusalem" completely burned out.

According to the Northern Group of Forces, work on the fire site will begin immediately after the situation stabilizes and the shelling stops.

The representative of the diocese, Fyodor Klyuyko, told Izvestia on April 24 that the wooden temple complex "New Jerusalem" caught fire in the Belgorod region after dropping ammunition from Ukrainian militants' UAVs.

Cleric of the Belgorod Archdiocese, Priest Nikolai Dubinin, in turn, called it a miracle that no one was injured during the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the temple complex.
