Russia is putting forward and considering serious proposals for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, and negotiations on this issue are continuing. This was announced on April 25 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with CBS News.

"We are considering serious proposals, we are making serious proposals, and this is not a process that should not be public until it is completed," Lavrov said.

He clarified that the Russian representatives are polite and therefore do not publicly disclose the details of the negotiations, unlike the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. Lavrov stressed that this is not serious.

American leader Donald Trump announced on April 25 that most of the main points of the deal on Ukraine had already been agreed. He stressed that he considers it necessary for both sides to hold a meeting at a very high level in order to finalize an agreement.

At the same time, Trump said that his special envoy Steve Witkoff had a "good meeting" with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, during which the possibility of resuming direct talks between the Russian and Ukrainian sides was discussed. According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Putin's meeting with Witkoff today symbolizes the alliance between Russia and the United States in the fight against Nazism.
