Chanel and Rolex have registered trademarks with Rospatent

The companies Chanel and Rolex have received registration in Rospatent of their trademarks with validity until 2034, Izvestia found out. Thus, the French brand through the Swiss branch of Chanel SARL registered three names at once - Chanel No. 5, Chance de Chanel and Eclat Premier Chanel.

According to the campaign cards, under these brands it plans to sell a whole range of its products in Russia - including cologne, perfume, perfume water, deodorants, soaps, oils, bath and shower gels, lotions. Other products include makeup removers, air fragrances, and toiletries. French luxury brand Chanel announced its departure from Russia in March 2022.

At the same time, until 2024, there was no talk about the final winding down of activities in our country, the company continued to rent stores and boutiques, although it did not conduct sales. However, as Izvestia reported, in the spring of 2024 it announced the termination of contracts with landlords. According to the media, Chanel's revenue in 2022 decreased by 75.6% to 4.5 billion rubles, and its net loss amounted to 1.8 billion rubles against a profit of 1.7 billion rubles a year earlier. At the end of 2024, the company unexpectedly showed a profit of 3.5 billion. These data are confirmed by SPARK-Interfax.

The Swiss brand Rolex also received a trademark registration under the same name until 2034. It follows from the card that its right holder was the company Rolex Promotions Sa with the address of the headquarters in Geneva. Its core business is the manufacture of watches and watch accessories. In 2024, as reported by the media, the company was registering trademarks for Air King watches. According to the brand's website, the main distributor in Russia remains Mercury, which has its own boutiques in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Sochi and St. Petersburg.
