US President Donald Trump has said he hopes for Ukraine to sign a natural resources deal immediately. On April 25, he announced this on the Truth Social network.

"Ukraine is led by [the president] Vladimir Zelensky has not signed the final documents on a very important agreement on rare earths with the United States. It was at least three weeks late. I hope it will be signed immediately," Trump said.

He also added that work on achieving a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict "is proceeding smoothly."

On April 18, Ukraine and the United States signed a memorandum on an agreement on minerals. The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Sviridenko, added that the next step is to finalize the contents of the transaction and conclude it.

On April 11, it was reported that the new draft resource deal between Kiev and Washington does not contain provisions on guarantees of Ukraine's security, despite the demands of the Kiev regime. In addition, the draft agreement also tightens the conditions put forward before.
