50% of Canadians called the relationship between Ottawa and Washington the most urgent problem for the country. This was announced on April 25 by YouGov with reference to the survey data.

"A recent YouGov poll showed that the main problem for Canadians is the relationship between the United States and Canada — half (50%) of Canadians say that this is one of the three biggest problems facing the country," the publication says on the organization's website.

About 33% of Canadians consider housing, inflation and healthcare to be the main problems for the country. Another 14% of Canadians reported that they were most concerned about immigration policy and the environment.

On April 21, Politico newspaper reported that there is a possibility of Canada joining the European Union (EU). The publication reported that Canada and the EU are united not only by economic ties, but also by the pressure exerted on the countries by trade duties imposed by US President Donald Trump.

Earlier, on April 7, Canada filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over US duties on cars and spare parts. According to the report, Ottawa argues that the measures are incompatible with Washington's responsibilities under various provisions of the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
