- The media reported on the tests of Norwegian military intelligence officers in the Arctic

A group of 13 Norwegian military intelligence officers went to the Arctic to survive in extreme conditions for 100 days. This was reported by Bloomberg on April 25.
"Soldiers of the Norwegian military intelligence regiment are taking part in exercises to test the impact of Arctic conditions on their equipment, bodies and minds," the statement said.
It is noted that the previous similar expedition of the Norwegian military lasted half as long. According to the agency, these exercises are necessary to assess the ability of European countries to conduct military operations in Arctic conditions against the background of "Russia's increased presence in this region."
Bloomberg notes that difficulties for the military are created not only by extreme cold and other natural conditions, but also by failures in the operation of electronic equipment and satellite navigation.
On March 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that NATO countries are looking at the Far North as a springboard for possible conflicts. He also noted that Moscow has never threatened anyone in the Arctic, but is monitoring the situation.
On the same day, Putin announced that the number of Russian military personnel in the Arctic would grow. The President added that Russia will enhance the combat capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces and modernize military infrastructure facilities in the Arctic region.
