The Telegraph: Kiev is ready to cede territories in exchange for security guarantees

The Ukrainian authorities have submitted to the United States their proposals for a peaceful settlement, according to which Kiev is ready to abandon its claims to the regions that have joined Russia in exchange for security guarantees from NATO. This was reported on April 25 by The Telegraph newspaper.
"[The President of Ukraine] Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine would consider the possibility of temporarily ceding land if the rest of the country received NATO protection," the publication says.
As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", the Ukrainian side opposed restrictions on the size of its armed forces or the defense industry.
On April 23, American leader Donald Trump said that the United States is experiencing more difficulties in negotiations with Ukraine than with Russia, with which agreements have been practically reached. In addition, according to him, Zelensky's statement about the refusal to recognize Crimea as the territory of the Russian Federation hinders the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
On April 24, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin supported Trump's statement that Ukraine had lost Crimea many years ago.
