Experts gave advice to tourists who decided to visit the cities of military glory


Among tourists, trips to the cities of military glory — St. Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk, Volgograd, Sevastopol, Murmansk - are in demand for the second May holidays: they account for 62% of the total number of city hotel bookings. This follows from the data of the national tour operator Alean, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 27. Experts told us which places travelers can visit in these cities.
St. Petersburg turned out to be the most popular. The share of the Northern Capital in city hotel bookings on May 9 is 39%. Moscow accounts for 14%, Minsk — 5%, Volgograd, Sevastopol, Murmansk — a total of 4% of bookings.
At the same time, the most affordable prices are offered to travelers by hotels in Sevastopol and Murmansk. In Murmansk, accommodation in small three-star hotels with breakfast will cost from 14,600 rubles for two adults with a child for three nights. In Sevastopol — from 16,367 rubles, in Moscow — from 30,270 rubles, in St. Petersburg — from 26,949 rubles.
During the holidays in Minsk, accommodation in four-star and five-star hotels will cost from 62,700 rubles for two adults with a child for three nights with breakfast. In Volgograd, most of the city's room stock is loaded. There are single rooms in small hotels or apartments, apartments that cost from 57 thousand rubles for three nights.
Alean experts recommend that tourists who are interested in the history of the Great Patriotic War visit the Museum of the Siege of Leningrad, the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery, and the Naval Museum in St. Petersburg. In the Leningrad region, there is the Road of Life Museum on Lake Ladoga and the Sestroretsky Rubezh open—air museum and exhibition complex, where they show fortifications, firing points and tell about the events of the Winter War and the defense of Leningrad.
In Moscow, tourists can visit the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora and the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In the Moscow region, there is the Museum of the Air Force in Monino and the Patriot Park in Kubinka. A special program for May 7-10 is being prepared by Patriot Park, where military tactical games, aerial combat reconstruction, and an equestrian club performance are planned. Tourists will also be able to visit the museum grounds and the Temple of the Armed Forces dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory.
In Belarus, you can visit the Khatyn memorial complex in the Minsk region and the Brest Fortress, in Volgograd — the Mamaev Kurgan monument-ensemble and the Battle of Stalingrad panorama museum, in Sevastopol - the Malakhov Kurgan complex, the Vladimir Cathedral — the Tomb of Admirals, the Sevastopol Underground House Museum, and a diorama "The assault on Sapun Mountain on May 7, 1944," The Military Historical Museum of the Black Sea Fleet. In Murmansk, tourists can visit the Naval Museum of the Northern Fleet and see the memorial to the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic.
