Ukrainian special services may be involved in the murder of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, Deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. This was announced on April 25 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"There is reason to believe that the Ukrainian special services were involved in the murder, especially since they had known Moskalik since his time working in the Minsk Contact Group and the Normandy Format to resolve the conflict in southeastern Ukraine," she said in a statement posted on the agency's website.

Zakharova noted that confirmation of the involvement of the Ukrainian special services in the murder would be a demonstration of the barbaric and treacherous nature of the Kiev regime, which relies on the escalation of military confrontation and rejects attempts to achieve a peaceful settlement.
