Moscow region has grown 1.6 million mini potato tubers

About 1.6 million mini-tubers of potatoes were produced in the Moscow region in 2024. The vegetable is grown in protected soil conditions, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food reports.

This method eliminates the risks of infecting plants with viral, fungal and bacterial diseases, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.

16 companies grow seed potatoes in the region. Among them are the Korenevo Agricultural Center in Lyubertsy, Agroforwarda in Voskresensk, and Proven Technologies in Dmitrov City District.

Earlier it was reported that eight new vegetable storages will be built in the Moscow Region in 2025. The new facilities will improve food security and keep prices on the "borscht set", ensure import substitution of potatoes.
