The cosmetologist told about the care of the skin around the eyes

Premature aging is seen primarily in the skin around the eyes, so proper care is important. Polina Golubkova, a cosmetologist and dermatologist at the Galaktika Clinic of Aesthetic Medicine, told Izvestia on April 26. The expert gave some advice.

"The skin around the eyes is radically different from the rest of the face. It is much thinner, almost 10 times. It attaches to the muscles that provide blinking. And the skin takes a direct active part in this blinking. Based on all this, it requires mandatory special care, both at home and professionally," said the cosmetologist.

According to her, two main opposing qualities of the skin around the eyes should be taken into account in home care. Firstly, it is thin and prone to dryness. Secondly, edema is typical for her. These two contradictions influence the choice of care products for this area.

"That is, we need to choose a care that will remove dryness, remove atonicity, and add collagen and elastin stimulation, because with age, the eyelids catastrophically lose collagen and elastin. On the other hand, we definitely need to add care that contains a draining function, that is, to remove puffiness," explained Golubkova.

The doctor clarified that by the age of 30, age-related changes are quite active in men and women. Approximately during this period, cosmetic procedures performed in clinics can be connected.

In addition to injection techniques, hardware techniques are applicable. Ultrasound is used to care for this area, which helps to introduce creams and serums that are used at home into deeper layers. But they are more concentrated and more saturated.

"When more serious problems arise — drooping eyelid, hernial bags, deep facial wrinkles — cosmetology uses hardware techniques RF-lifting and SMAS-lifting," Golubkova drew attention.

If wrinkles cannot be eliminated with botulinum toxin, fractional polishing hardware techniques such as a CO2 laser are also sometimes used. He is undergoing rehabilitation after that.

"The problem that patients also often face is pigmentation around the eyes. It is effectively solved with the help of photo rejuvenation. This hardware technique helps to remove age spots efficiently and permanently. Also, during its action, rejuvenation occurs due to the stimulation and production of collagen and elastin by fibroblasts, and small red dots — vessels — or capillaries in the area around the eyes can be removed, if necessary," Golubkova explained.
