MEP Wilimski called on the EU to stop sponsoring military conflicts

The European Union (EU) needs to stop sponsoring military conflicts around the world. This was announced on April 25 by the head of the Austrian Freedom Party faction in the European Parliament, Harald Wilimski.
"While our population is suffering from record inflation and a sharp rise in the cost of living, Brussels continues to pour millions into military support for third countries," he was quoted on the party's website as saying.
According to Wilimski, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, it is necessary to say that the EU is a peace project, not an instrument for the development of armed conflicts. He also called it "absurd" that the weapons are funded by the European Peace Foundation.
According to Wilimski, Brussels continues to provide material military support to third countries. He noted that such priorities are wrong, since the EU is not a "world police", therefore, it should not try to become one.
Earlier, on March 7, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with Kossuth Radio that the EU could not allocate funds for Ukraine's military operations without guaranteed financial assistance from the United States. According to him, the union's desire to support the country while increasing its own defense spending could "destroy Europe."
