Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said on April 25 that Western countries were provoking humanitarian crises and armed conflicts.

"The West continues to act in the usual way of sanctions pressure, blackmail and threats of force. Illegal methods of interference in their internal affairs are being used against states pursuing independent domestic and foreign policies, humanitarian crises and armed conflicts are being provoked," he said at a plenary session of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Security Council.

Shoigu also pointed out that Western intelligence agencies are conducting informational and psychological sabotage aimed at destroying basic moral and cultural norms, traditions, religious foundations, institutions of marriage and family.

"The need to resist external pressure, threats and challenges of our time poses an extremely important task for the Russian Federation and the countries of the Global South and East to develop mechanisms to ensure equal and indivisible security for all states. Joint efforts will make it possible to provide an adequate response to the dangerous accumulation of conflict potential in various regions of the world," the Russian Security Council Secretary added.

On April 24, the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation reported that the special services of European countries are fabricating new accusations about US President Donald Trump's ties with Moscow, launching a campaign to undermine his peacekeeping efforts. The ministry added that Paris and London are showing the greatest interest in information about American projects with Russian gas and oil companies.
