President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko advised the authorities of Poland and Lithuania "not to get mad" about the arrival of migrant workers in the republic. BelTA news agency wrote about this on April 25.

"Poles and Lithuanians should calm down. No Afghans, no Turkmens, Uzbeks or Tajiks will leave us. They will live and work with us, and we will accept them. That's why they don't need to get mad there and screw up our people so that they make a fuss," Lukashenko said, approving the appointment of Sergei Levkovich to the post of first deputy chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

According to him, Belarus does not insist on the arrival of migrants, but "labor migration is normal." The Belarusian leader added that not only residents of the southern regions of the former Soviet Union, but also representatives of Eastern Europe come to work.

Back on January 16, Lukashenko proposed to Poland to close all checkpoints on the border with Belarus. According to him, Minsk does not supply Warsaw with anything. He pointed out that he would not "with a noose around his neck" protect Poland from migrants, which burdens the people of Belarus with sanctions measures.
