- Lavrov spoke about France's signals to the Russian Federation about the desire to solve the problems that have arisen.

French politicians sometimes "whisper" signals to Russia that they want to solve the problems that have arisen. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during the awarding ceremony of the President of the Franco-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Emmanuel Kidet with the Order of Friendship.
"Sometimes our French colleagues send us signals that they really want to solve the problems that have arisen, but they send them in whispers," the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
In his speech, the Foreign Minister also noted that he is convinced that there are millions of people in France who do not want to "sacrifice friendship with Russia" and understand the essence of the events taking place.
In addition, Lavrov said that French parliamentarians are interested in coming to Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
According to the minister, the strength of the ties between the two countries is evidenced by the French companies that continued their work in Russia, despite the threats and difficulties.
On April 24, Sergei Fedorov, a leading researcher at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, assessed in an interview with Izvestia the statements of the new French Ambassador to Russia, Nicolas de Riviere, about the desire for dialogue. He noted that his words indicate that Paris is beginning to realize the need for dialogue with Moscow.
