Naryshkin assessed Sandu's actions against the background of the Hutsul situation

On April 25, Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), supported the statement that Moldovan President Maia Sandu was "playing with fire."
"If you want to call it that, please," Naryshkin told TASS.
This is how he answered the question of whether it is possible to say that the Moldovan president is "playing with fire" in the light of the situation with the head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, and other politicians.
Gutsul stated on April 23 that the defense would continue to defend the truth and the adoption of correct and fair decisions by judges, even under pressure from the Moldovan government and Sandu.
On March 25, Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau airport. Her name was found on the list of persons who are prohibited from leaving the country. Later, on March 28, the head of Gagauzia was arrested for 20 days, and on April 9, the court replaced her measure of restraint with house arrest.
