A mother who drowned a child in the toilet was convicted in the Krasnodar Territory

In the Krasnodar Territory, the Kurganinsky district court sentenced a local resident who drowned a newborn baby in the toilet. A criminal case was initiated under the article "Murder of a newborn child by a mother immediately after giving birth."

According to KrasnodarMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the SU TFR in the region, it was established that on January 8, 2025, a 19-year-old woman gave birth to a full-term baby girl on her own. She immediately decided to get rid of the child, as she hid the pregnancy from his biological father and from her parents.

The girl cut the umbilical cord with scissors and threw the girl into an outdoor toilet. The incident became known only a few days later, when the woman in labor sought medical help.

The girl fully admitted her guilt. The court sentenced her to 1.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of Anapa, who stabbed her three-month-old son in 2023, was sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony. The woman stabbed the boy in the chest, and then tried to commit suicide. An ambulance crew arrived at the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital. She was saved.

It was also reported that in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a mother of three children hacked her three-year-old daughter with an axe and injured an eight-year-old to take revenge on her husband, as she suspected him of treason. At the time of the murder, there was another six-year-old girl at home, she was not injured.
