A temporary bridge over Bira will be built during the construction of a new ferry.

A new ferry is being built in Birobidzhan during the construction of a new bridge over the Bira River. This is necessary to ensure communication between parts of the city and to avoid traffic jams.

Acting Governor Maria Kostyuk said that the new bridge will be made transportable and pedestrian. The structures of the spans of the main bridge will be made using modern technologies from uncut reinforced concrete beams. Thanks to this, it will be possible to reduce construction time while maintaining stability parameters. A new bridge will be built on the site of the old one.

The temporary bridge will also be a transport and pedestrian bridge, it will be installed next to the old bridge during its dismantling and the construction of a new one, IA EAOmedia writes.

Work is currently underway on geological surveys. Then the design of the new facility and its examination will begin. The regional authorities have concluded a concession agreement on the design, construction and operation of the bridge over the Bira with IFR — Vostok 1 LLC.

Earlier it was reported about plans to repair the bridge over the Shchukinka-3 River on the Birobidzhan–Ungun–Leninskoye road and the bridge over the Malaya Samara River on the Birobidzhan–Amurzet road. The work was to be carried out within the framework of the national project "Safe high-quality roads".
