Orban accused Europe of wanting to continue the conflict in Ukraine

The European Union (EU) countries are not seeking to end the conflict in Ukraine, despite the peaceful settlement initiatives of the United States. This was announced on April 25 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Radio Kossuth.
"Slovaks and Hungarians stand on the side of peace and support the efforts of the Americans. The remaining 25 EU countries decide to continue the conflict and even increase the volume of military assistance," he said.
According to Orban, the Hungarian opposition in Brussels wants Budapest to contribute $125 million for military aid to Kiev.
"There is an obvious serious military psychosis with the desire to pursue an independent European military strategy rather than support the United States. I think it's hopeless," the Hungarian prime minister added.
The politician also raised the issue of Ukraine's possible membership in the EU. In his opinion, the Ukrainian territory is so large that all funds from the EU budget, which are used to support less developed countries, will go to it.
"The average level of development of the EU will fall, and we will no longer be eligible for aid, but will become donors. Not only EU money will go to Ukraine, but Hungarian money going to Brussels will also go to Ukraine," Orban concluded.
On March 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States was directly talking about its desire to end the conflict in Ukraine, but Europe was demanding "the continuation of the banquet."
