Residents of Primorye began to complain less about tick bites

Specialists of the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in Primorsky Krai noted a decrease in the number of complaints from local residents about sucking ticks. Since the beginning of the epidemiological season, 422 people have contacted medical institutions about this, 121 of them are children. These are the data of the sanitary department.

The victims were registered in 26 municipalities. Compared to the same period last year, their number decreased by 22.8%. It is below the average annual level by 15.7%.

292 ticks taken from the victims were sent for research. Borrelia was detected in 14% of cases in ticks, and rickettsia in 20.5%. There are isolated cases of anaplasmas and ehrlichia. Antigens and RNA of the tick-borne encephalitis virus have not yet been found in the samples.

In Primorsky Krai, as noted by PrimaMedia news agency, more than 23 thousand people have been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis. Vaccination continues.

Earlier, Olga Stolyarova, an infectious disease specialist at the Be Healthy clinic on Sretenka, said that the first symptoms of tick-borne diseases may appear only a month after infection.
