Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah called for the expulsion of all Pakistani citizens and measures to ensure their speedy return to their homeland. This was reported by the ANI News agency on April 25.
"The Shah has asked the chief ministers to take measures to ensure that people return to Pakistan as soon as possible," the statement said.
In addition, sources told the agency that Indian ministers and other senior officials of the country will hold a meeting on the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960. It is clarified that India has already notified Pakistan with a letter about the suspension of the treaty.
Earlier, on April 24, the Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the decision to suspend the 1960 Indus River Treaty, thereby stopping the supply of water from the stream to Pakistan. In addition, on April 24, the Government of India announced the suspension of the issuance of visas for Pakistani citizens, they must leave the country by April 27.
This decision was made in connection with a terrorist attack on civilians and tourists in the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam in southern Kashmir. As a result, 27 people were killed on April 22, including foreigners, women and the elderly.
