The Second Western District Military Court sentenced three Ukrainian militants Vasily Moisey, Stepan Kobelyuk and Alexander Dmitriev to 15.5 and 16 years in prison for crimes in the Kursk region. This was announced on April 25 by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
It was established that in September-October 2024, Kobelyuk, Dmitriev and Moisey, being part of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), crossed the border and invaded the Korenevsky district of the Kursk region. The militants were detained by Russian military personnel and were in custody pending trial.
"The court agreed with the position of the public prosecutor and sentenced Kobelyuk to 16 years in prison. Moisey and Dmitriev were sentenced to 15 years and 6 months in prison each," the agency's website says.
It is specified that the defendants will serve their first three years in prison, and the rest of their sentences will be in a high—security penal colony.
On April 22, four Ukrainian Armed Forces militants were sentenced to up to 16 years for crimes in the Kursk region. It is specified that in 2024, the Ukrainian military repeatedly crossed the border of the Russian Federation in the Korenevsky, Sudzhansky and Glushkovsky districts of the region.
