French alpine skier Margot Simon died in training in Val d'Isere at the age of 18. This was reported on April 24 by the publication RMC Sport.

The Val d'Isere resort announced on Thursday the tragic death of young French skier Margot Simon, who died during training sessions at the Red Bull Alpine Park.

The ambulance doctor tried to resuscitate the athlete, but it did not work. Due to the tragedy, the competitions were cancelled. Details of the incident are unknown.

It is specified that the conditions on the highway were favorable.

Simone won the title of French champion among girls under 18 in slalom.

In February, in the Indian state of Rajasthan, 17-year-old powerlifting champion Jastika Acharya died while lifting a 270 kg barbell. Sports equipment fell on the girl's neck, as a result of which she received injuries incompatible with life. The athlete was taken to the hospital, where the medical staff pronounced her dead.
