- The Times learned about London's possible refusal to send military personnel to Ukraine

The UK may abandon the idea of sending thousands of troops to Ukraine. This was reported on Thursday, April 24, by The Times newspaper, citing sources.
"The UK and Europe no longer plan to deploy ground forces to protect key cities, ports and nuclear power plants in order to ensure peace," the newspaper notes.
As stated in the article, the possible refusal to send ground troops is associated with a lack of forces in London, as well as the risk of a larger conflict if the ceasefire agreement is violated.
At the same time, the newspaper notes that sending troops to Ukraine was the desire of France.
"Great Britain has always thought so. It was France that wanted a tougher approach," the publication says.
On April 24, The Times reported that Britain and France had weakened their commitment to sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine. According to the newspaper, Paris and London expressed concerns that Moscow might perceive this initiative as a unilateral measure and reject it.
