Tsyganov and Rodriguez Soto won the Best Actor award at the MIFF.

The jury of the 47th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) awarded Evgeny Tsyganov the title of best male actor, and Spanish-born actress Maria Rodriguez Soto was recognized as the best actress.

The award ceremony took place at the Rossiya Theater in Moscow on Thursday, April 24. Tsyganov won the prize for his role in the film "Family Happiness", directed by Stasia Tolstaya. In turn, Soto was awarded for her work in the film "House on Fire", directed by Spanish director Dani De La Orden.

In addition, the MIFF jury awarded the film "Elysium" by Indian director Pradeep Kurba the main prize of the screening, namely— the statuette of the Golden Saint George. Kurba also won the Silver Saint George for Best Director at the festival.

The 47th Moscow International Film Festival opened on April 18 in the historic building of the Rossiya Cinema. During the eight days of the show, 200 paintings from 50 countries were shown. The MAER media holding acted as a communication partner of the MIFF. This year, the organizers of the contest received 1,600 applications for participation, which is 17% more than last year. The top five most represented countries are Russia, China, Spain, France and Iran.
