The leader of the Orekhovskaya organized crime group, Sergei Butorin, known as "Osya," has been transferred to Moscow, a source told Izvestia. According to him, the criminal authority figure is a witness in the criminal case and is giving testimony. He has been in SIZO No. 2 "Butyrka" for almost a month.

Butorin, who is serving a life sentence in the Polar Owl colony in the settlement of Kharp on Yamal, may have valuable information about crimes, the source said.

"Probably, the investigation is interested in unsolved episodes of the Orekhovskaya group's activities," the interlocutor told the publication. After interrogations Butorin will be returned to the colony "Polar Owl".

In 2011, the court found Butorin guilty of organizing murders, attempted murders of 38 people and leadership of a criminal association.
