The main prize of the 47th Moscow International Film Festival was given by the jury to the Indian film "Elysium"

The jury of the 47th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) awarded the main prize of the screening — the statuette of the Golden Saint George — the picture "Elysium" by Indian director Pradeep Kurba. The award from the stage at the closing ceremony on April 24 was presented to him by a member of the jury and director Alexei German Jr.

In addition, Kurba received the Silver Saint George for Best Director at the festival.

"The entire team that worked with us was incredibly efficient, it was a great honor for me to attend this festival, and we made a unanimous decision on who to award the main prize to. The film "Elysium" will receive it, — said the chairman of the jury of the main MIFF competition, Spanish producer and director Luis Mignarro.

The prize for the best documentary film went to the film "Auntie Hu and her Garden of Eden" by Chinese director Pan Zhiqi. The award for the best film of the Russian Premieres competition was given to "Hello to My Husband," directed by Russian director Anton Maslov (Russia).

The performers of the best male and female roles were actors Evgeny Tsyganov (the film "Family Happiness", directed by Stasia Tolstaya, Russia) and Spaniard Maria Rodriguez Soto ("House on Fire", directed by Dani De La Orden, Spain). The prize for his contribution to world cinema was awarded to Russian actor Vladimir Ilyin.

The 47th Moscow International Film Festival opened on April 18 in the historic building of the Rossiya Cinema. During the eight days of the show, 200 paintings from 50 countries were shown. The MAER media holding acted as the communication partner of the MMCF. This year, the organizers of the contest received 1,600 applications for participation, which is 17% more than last year. The top five most represented countries are Russia, China, Spain, France and Iran.
