Tankers of the Center group of forces spoke about how they strengthen the protection of combat vehicles and how combat work is going on in the Pokrovsky direction. On April 24, the footage is published by Izvestia.

"We have installed a dome for the mangal [a rigid frame with dynamic protection on the tank turret]. The dome is made of fiberglass reinforcement for flexibility, so that the drone does not detonate, but gets entangled in nets or springs away from them," said the tank commander with the call sign Grieg.

He added that various types of electronic warfare systems must be installed on tanks. They are necessary to suppress enemy drones.

A soldier with the call sign Rean said that his crew on the T-72B3M tank most often fires from closed positions, as direct fire increases the risk of being hit by drones.

"This T-72B3M, it already has a "native" additional protection against drones and third-generation ATGMs (anti-tank guided missiles) that attack the tank from above. On the tower, it is covered by both dynamic protection and the structure itself," Dmitry Astrakhan, a correspondent for Izvestia, added.

On April 23, the Ministry of Defense reported that the crews of T-80BV tanks of the North group of forces destroyed camouflaged positions and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk border area during combat operations. During the active offensive operations, the tankers ensured the landing of attack aircraft in forest belts and settlements and helped them gain a foothold in their positions.
