- The UN expressed concern about the persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church and the UOC in Ukraine

On April 24, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination expressed concern about the restrictions imposed by Kiev on the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
"The Committee expressed concern about racist hate speech and discriminatory statements in public discourse, including from public and political figures and in the media," the document says, published on the UN website.
The Committee also called on Kiev to take into account international norms and guarantee freedom of religion for all faiths without exception.
On April 9, the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) reported that schismatics had seized the Assumption Church of the UOC in the village of Starye Bezradichi in the Kiev region. It is specified that along with the raiders was the secretary of the Pereyaslav-Vishnevsky diocese of the OCU "abbot" Vikenty Kozak.
