A man arrested for the murder of a policeman in Kingisepp was planning a new crime


A suspect in the murder of a policeman in the Leningrad region said he was planning to attack another law enforcement official. Footage of the interrogation appeared at the disposal of Izvestia on April 24.
He said he threw the phone on the ground to distract the police officers and sneak up on them. After that, the detainee planned to kill them and take the car of law enforcement officers to escape from the scene.
When asked about the reasons for the attack on a policeman in Kingisepp, he said that he stabbed him in the neck "for coming up to me without explaining the reason."
Earlier that day, a suspect in the murder of a policeman was detained in a forest area of the Slantsevsky district of the Leningrad region, where he had been hiding from law enforcement officers for several hours. He turned out to be a 19-year-old native of the city of Slantsy in the Leningrad region.
The murder of a policeman in Kingisepp, Leningrad region, became known on April 23. It is specified that the operative noticed a passerby who looked like a wanted criminal. During the arrest, the suspect stabbed him in the neck and fled.
Later, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region announced the initiation of a criminal case.
