Russia and Vietnam discussed the possibility of supplying Russian LNG as part of the intensification of the energy dialogue between the two countries. This was announced on April 24 by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation in the Telegram channel.

According to the press service, during the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in the oil and gas sector, including the approval of documents to expand cooperation.

In addition, the countries considered the possibility of supplying Russian LNG to Vietnam and intensifying the energy dialogue ahead of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Toh Lam, scheduled for May 2025.

"We will do our best to sign the necessary documents before the meeting of the leaders of our states. The projects that we are currently discussing are aimed at long—term cooperation, they set the vector of our cooperation for many years to come," said Roman Marshavin, Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Energy.

Earlier, on April 6, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko noted the high value of ties with Hanoi for Moscow during a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.
