Russian judoka Danil Lavrentiev became the European champion


Russian judoka Danil Lavrentiev won the gold medal of the European Championships in the weight category up to 73 kg. This was reported on April 24 in the Telegram channel of the Russian Judo Federation.
"Danil Lavrentiev defeats [Manuel] Lombardo stays in the stalls and becomes the European champion!" — says the publication of the sports organization.
The athlete defeated the Italian Lombardo, becoming the European champion in the weight category up to 73 kg. The bronze medals were won by Frenchman Joan-Benjamin Gaba and Azerbaijani Rashid Mammadaliyev.
The tournament takes place in Podgorica, Montenegro, from April 23 to April 26.
Earlier, on March 22, Russian judoka Armen Agayan won silver at the Grand Slam tournament in Tbilisi. In the weight category up to 73 kg, the judoka could not defeat the representative of Georgia Lasha Shavdatuashvili in the final.
