The Organizing Committee for the preparation of the Russia — Sports Power Forum was held

A meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the International Forum "Russia - a Sporting Power" was held at the Situation Center of the Russian Government under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The event was also attended by Alexey Dyumin, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Assistant to the President of Russia, Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the forum, Mikhail Degtyarev, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, Minister of Sports and President of the Olympic Committee, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Governor of the Samara Region.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government and head of the organizing committee for the Russia — Sports Power Forum, said: "The Russia — Sports Power Forum is a significant event in the country's sports life. It will be held in hospitable Samara in the autumn of 2025 in accordance with the Decree of President Vladimir Putin and with the support of the Russian Government. Over 3,000 people take part in it every year. We have already started preparing for the upcoming event. One of the main topics of the Forum will be the development of youth sports, an issue under the personal control of the President. Traditionally, the main event of the forum will be a meeting of the Presidential Sports Council."

The meeting participants paid special attention to the key event of the Forum, the meeting of the Presidential Sports Council, which this year will be devoted to the development of youth sports.

Alexey Dyumin noted that this issue is under the personal control of the Head of State and requires the consolidation of efforts at all levels of government.

"Traditionally, the main event during the Forum is the Presidential Sports Council, which this year will be devoted to the most important topic — the development of youth sports. The President has already given a number of instructions on this topic. There are still a lot of long-standing issues, the solution of which is within the competence of the Government, the Ministry of Sports itself, and our legislators. They need to be worked out together. The Presidential Administration is ready to provide comprehensive assistance here. The topic of the development of youth sports is not just under the control of the Head of State, but has a special significance for him," concluded Dyumin.

Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports and President of the Russian Olympic Committee, in turn, stressed the importance of the upcoming forum, noting its role in the development of domestic sports and strengthening international cooperation. "The Russia — Sports Power Forum will be the largest sports and business event and is designed to promote the development of our national sports and efforts to expand global cooperation. This year, it will be held in a new format for the first time, the Roscongress Foundation was chosen as the new operator, the corporate identity of the Forum was revised, and the logo was changed – it is associated with the Sochi 2014 Olympics," the minister stressed.

In addition, the Minister announced events dedicated to the historical role of athletes during the Great Patriotic War and their post-war achievements.

In turn, Adviser to the President of Russia Anton Kobyakov stressed that the Forum will be held at a crucial time for Russian sports, which requires the mobilization of all opportunities, including strengthening the role of sport in solving the tasks of the state in working with youth, strengthening patriotism and moral values, and forming a healthy society.

"The instructions of the President of the Russian Federation have set goals for the sports industry in the near future, and a comprehensive state program, Sport of Russia, has been developed. In this context, the Samara Forum is assigned the role of a platform for shaping solutions aimed at strengthening Russia's sports sovereignty and strengthening the role of sport in achieving national development goals. One of the key topics will be the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Special attention at the Forum will be paid to the possibilities of sports in the rehabilitation of ITS participants, including the development of adaptive sports. I am confident that the International Forum "Russia — a Sporting power" will become an effective and relevant tool for the development of Russian sports," Kobyakov stressed.
