The administration of US President Donald Trump has appointed Michael Anton, Director of Political Planning at the State Department, as the head of the American delegation to conduct technical consultations with Iran. The Politico newspaper writes about this on April 24, citing sources.

"He's the perfect person for the job, given his experience and intelligence. Most importantly, he will ensure the implementation of President Trump's agenda on this file," the administration official said.

It is specified that Anton is going to hold the first round of expert talks with Iranian officials this weekend.
