The murder of a 34-year-old woman committed in 2000 has been solved in Moscow. Police officers detained one of the suspects, a source told Izvestia on April 24.
"Irina was beaten with a hammer in her own apartment, stabbed, strangled, and then thrown out of an eighth—floor window," the source said.
Two people are accused of the crime: Kirill Zybin, a detainee, and A. Sitnikov, an accomplice. According to investigators, the suspects agreed to kill the woman because of a personal conflict, and then tried to fake suicide. The location of the accomplice is now being established. Zybin had previously been convicted of theft, robbery and robbery.
Initially, the crime was classified under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). In 2001, the case was suspended due to the absence of suspects. According to the investigation, during the conflict, a man tried to take away his weapon, during which a shot occurred. It is specified that after the incident, the resident of the house was beaten. The man is in a medical facility with multiple fractures.
