In Moldova, the authorities were accused of neglecting history before Victory Day

The Moldovan authorities are wiping their feet on sacred historical events, refusing to provide Chisinau's main square for Victory Day celebrations. This was announced on April 24 by the leader of the opposition Chance party, Alexei Lungu.
"The government traditionally plays by double or triple standards, saying that May 9 will not be celebrated in the central square of the country, that there will be no Victory Day. They put together some kind of town there and <..."Europe Day will be celebrated. <...> What is happening proves once again that the authorities in Chisinau are wiping their feet on sacred historical events for Moldova and for the whole world," Lungu told reporters.
He stressed the need for a compromise with law enforcement agencies and government representatives so that citizens celebrating Victory Day on May 9 would have equal rights with participants in Europe Day events.
The politician proposed changing the time of the events to meet the interests of all parties, and called on the opposition to unite for the sake of "truth and justice."
Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that the Moldovan authorities had banned the holding of Victory Day events in Chisinau's main square. On May 9, only Europe Day will be celebrated in the republic. For these purposes, the area of the Grand National Assembly is planned to be occupied by the organization of the so-called "European town".
