Iran is ready to "take the first step" and visit Paris, Berlin, London to discuss the issue of its nuclear program. This was announced on April 24 by the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Araqchi.
"I propose diplomacy again. After my recent consultations in Moscow and Beijing, I am ready to take the first step and visit Paris, Berlin and London," Araqchi wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In addition, the Foreign Minister noted that he was ready for a settlement before the start of indirect negotiations with the United States on the nuclear program. However, according to him, the "eurotroika" (Germany, Great Britain and France) itself refused to do this.
On April 18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Russia could become a mediator in negotiations between the United States and Iran. He stated that the Islamic Republic is ready to make common decisions within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
On April 12, the first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the lifting of sanctions and nuclear issues ended. The second stage took place on April 19. The Iranian delegation was led by Abbas Araqchi, and Washington was represented by the President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
