- The St. George Ribbon campaign in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War has started in Russia.

On the eve of May 9, the International St. George Ribbon Campaign dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) started in Russia. The footage is at the disposal of Izvestia.
The campaign is being held, in particular, in the Kamchatka Territory, the Krasnodar Territory, the Udmurt Republic and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug). Victory volunteers distribute St. George's ribbons and commemorative leaflets to passersby. Representatives of the movement also tell some historical facts of past events. In addition to the Russian regions, representatives of other countries that honor this holiday also take part in the action.
"The St. George Ribbon is a victory of the Second World War, that is, the Great Patriotic War. And we, as representatives of the Victory Volunteers, here in Egypt, we congratulate Russia on the Victory anniversary. Egypt loves Russia very much. And once again, I personally congratulate Russia," said one of the Victory volunteers, who lives in Egypt.
Earlier that day, on the eve of Victory Day, Victory Volunteers, together with MIA Rossiya Segodnya, launched the St. George Ribbon International Campaign. During the campaign, volunteers take to the streets of populated areas and distribute the symbol of military glory, as well as give recommendations on how to wear it and tell the story of its origin. It is noted that in 2025 the campaign will be held at more than 8000 thousand points.
