Pakistan has declared Indian military advisers persona non grata

The Security Council of Pakistan has declared Indian advisers on defense, navy and aviation persona non grata amid the aggravation of relations between the countries after the terrorist attack near the Indian city of Pahalgam. This was announced on April 24 by the country's Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at a meeting of the Security Council.
"Pakistan declares Indian Defense, Navy and Air Force advisers in Islamabad persona non grata. They are ordered to leave Pakistan immediately, but no later than April 30, 2025. These positions in the Indian High Commission are considered to be cancelled," reads a press release published following the meeting in the Dawn edition.
Pakistan also noted that India does not have the right to unilaterally suspend the operation of the Indus River treaty. Islamabad stressed that such actions by New Delhi would be considered an act of war.
The Security Council of Pakistan, among other things, suspended all bilateral agreements with India, including trade between the two countries. Pakistan's airspace will also be closed to all Indian airlines.
Earlier that day, India suspended the issuance of visas for Pakistani citizens, ordering them to leave the country by April 27.
On April 22, a group of terrorists attacked civilians and tourists in the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam in southern Kashmir. As a result, 27 people were killed, including foreigners, women and the elderly.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to President and Prime Minister of India Draupada Murmu and Narendra Modi in connection with the terrorist attack near the Indian city of Pahalgam. The Russian leader called the attack a brutal crime and noted that "there can be no justification for this."
