The Kremlin agreed with Trump's statement on Crimea

The Kremlin supported the statement by US President Donald Trump that Ukraine lost Crimea many years ago. This was announced on April 24 by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
"This is fully consistent with our understanding and with what we have been saying for a long time," he said at a briefing.
As for Trump's statement about the unwillingness of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, Peskov stressed that the peninsula was already lost for Kiev. This issue is non-negotiable.
The Kremlin's official representative stressed that Russia highly appreciates the mediation efforts of the United States in resolving the conflict in Ukraine and strives for peace itself.
On April 23, it was reported that the United States was outraged by Ukraine's refusal to recognize Crimea as Russian territory. It was clarified that representatives of the American delegation canceled their visit to London for the next stage of negotiations on resolving the Ukrainian crisis amid "anger in Washington" due to Kiev's unwillingness to agree to the official recognition of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, on April 23, American leader Donald Trump said that the United States was experiencing more difficulties in negotiations with Ukraine than with Russia, with which agreements had been practically reached. In addition, according to him, Zelensky's statement about the refusal to recognize Crimea as the territory of the Russian Federation hinders the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
