- Konstantin Ushakov became the head coach of the Russian women's national volleyball team

Konstantin Ushakov was confirmed as the head coach of the Russian women's national volleyball team until 2028. The relevant information was published on the website of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation.
"I've wanted to come back and lead the national team for a long time after a bad 2017 season. I was constantly thinking about it, striving, working. Regarding the plans, I would like to get together as soon as possible, get to know all the players and get started," he is quoted as saying in the publication.
Ushakov has already coached the Russian national team in 2017. Prior to that, he worked on the coaching staffs of Vladimir Kuzyutkin and Yuri Marichev.
On April 21, it was reported that two-time Olympic champion Evgenia Kanaeva announced her retirement from the coaching staff of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team. She worked for 10 years.
