- Russians will be offered new banking services to protect themselves from fraudsters

VTB launches new self-locking services designed to help in the fight against fraudsters. According to the bank's press service, in May-June, customers will have the opportunity to independently impose restrictions on key functions of VTB Online.
We are talking about the registration of consumer loans, early withdrawal of money from the deposit and the establishment of a ban or limits on transfers and payments. For example, a self-lock on early closing of a deposit will not allow you to withdraw money online, but the client will be able to do this in person at the bank branch.
"The main functions will be launched before the end of the second quarter. The service will allow you to exclude not only unauthorized loan processing, but also early withdrawal of money from deposits, transfers or purchases for large amounts. In addition, customers will be able to set up special verification methods for important operations, such as fingerprint or NFC confirmation. This will allow them to strengthen control over their finances and minimize the risks of fraud online," said Georgy Gorshkov, head of VTB retail.
In March, self-locks were introduced for QR operations at ATMs.
According to the results of the bank's survey, more than half of Russians reported that they would set restrictions on transfers of large amounts (66%) and on cash withdrawals using QR codes at ATMs (55%). Among the popular options is a ban on early withdrawal of money from the deposit and large purchases in stores.
The survey was conducted among 1,500 respondents living in large cities with a population of over 100,000 inhabitants.
