Among the Russians surveyed, 94% believe that intellectual abilities are extremely important for harmonious relationships. Three quarters (76%) put intelligence above physical fitness, and for 28%, a partner's higher education is essential. This is stated in the research results of the dating service VK Dating, which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 25.

Every second woman believes that a potential companion must have a university degree. At the same time, for 40% of men, the level of education does not matter at all. However, representatives of the stronger sex are more likely to be willing to communicate on serious intellectual topics — this format of conversation is attractive to 19% of them, while among Russians it is only for 8%.

Respondents cite a broad outlook (22%) and non-standard thinking (18%) as significant intellectual qualities in a partner. At the same time, every fifth participant in the study appreciates a rich vocabulary and the ability to express their thoughts clearly.

At the same time, one in three (29%) men believes that the physical form of a companion is more important than intelligence. Only 14% of women have this opinion.

Half of the respondents said that they don't care if their partner is physically active, as long as it's interesting to communicate with them. Another third (35%) consider sports to be a sign of self-care and support their partner in his hobby. And 10% of respondents admitted that they have a negative attitude towards excessive sports — they call such people fixated.

Experts also found out that women like men who are engaged in fitness (16%), team sports, such as football (14%), and sports swimming (13%). Men are attracted to fitness classes (22%), dancing (14%), running or cycling (14%).

If a partner in a relationship gets out of shape, 54% of the respondents would be willing to offer to train together. At the same time, a third of women said that they would not be bothered by such a situation and would not do anything about it. Among men, only 17% chose this answer, and another 18% will hint to their partner that it's time to take care of themselves.

Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that modern Russians are increasingly using psychological compatibility as the main criterion for choosing a partner. Thus, 88% of women and 82% of men check the psychotype of a potential life partner before starting a serious relationship. This is stated in the results of a study of the Mamba dating service.
