European countries have expressed their position against recognizing Crimea as Russian and informed US President Donald Trump about it. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper on April 24.

"The Trump administration has already been told that it will be impossible for European capitals to recognize Crimea as Russian," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, this recognition is unacceptable for European countries and they consider it necessary to dissuade the United States from unilateral steps in this direction.

In addition, one senior diplomat added that the issues of Crimea and Ukraine's desire for NATO membership are "red lines" along which Europe is not going to make concessions.

On April 23, it was reported that the United States was outraged by Ukraine's refusal to recognize Crimea as Russian territory. It was clarified that representatives of the American delegation canceled their visit to London for the next stage of negotiations on resolving the Ukrainian crisis amid "anger in Washington" due to Kiev's unwillingness to agree to the official recognition of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.
