Colorectal, stomach, and pancreatic cancers remain difficult to treat. This was announced on April 24 by Larisa Smirnova, Vice President of Oncology at R-Pharm.

"The problem of colorectal cancer treatment has not been fully solved yet. There is a lot of this cancer in the incidence rate, so it creates a big problem," she explained "Газете.Ru ".

Smirnova also stressed that 20 years ago, melanoma was considered fatal, but with the advent of immuno-oncological drugs such as pembrolizumab and nivolumab, the situation has changed, and patients are living longer.

In addition, according to the Vice president, breast cancer is currently being successfully treated, and some patients are fully cured. Significant progress has also been made in the treatment of kidney and lung cancers, which were previously difficult diagnoses.

On April 20, an expert at the Hemotest laboratory, oncologist Margarita Chernaya, said that chronic stress can contribute to the development of malignant tumors. With constant overexertion, the immune system, responsible for destroying cancer cells, is disrupted. In addition, due to stress, an inflammatory process can begin in the body.
