An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded off the coast of Chile. This was reported on April 24 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to him, the seismic event occurred at 03:20 UTC (06:20 Moscow time) 66 km southwest of the city of Ovale, which is home to about 77.1 thousand people. The source was located at a depth of 27 km.

There is no information about casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat has been announced.

On the afternoon of April 23, three earthquakes occurred in Turkey. The first 3.9-magnitude tremors were recorded off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district. After that, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred in Istanbul. Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 was recorded off the coast of Buyukcekmece in the Sea of Marmara. As a result of the tremors in Istanbul, almost 240 Turks were injured, and an abandoned building collapsed.
